Band Saw Machines Buying Guide & FAQ
How to choose between horizontal and vertical band saws?
Horizontal band saws are primarily designed for straight, cut-off operations on bar stocks, pipe tubes, and structural profiles, where the saw head moves down across the material. Vertical band saws feature a stationary vertical blade, and the operator feeds the sheet metal plate against the blade, making them ideal for cutting custom contours, radii, complex shapes, and tooling patterns.
What are the main advantages of double column bandsaws?
Double column bandsaws (like our H5-33NⅡ and H-33AI models) guide the saw head frame along two heavy-duty pillars/cylinders. This dual-column design provides much greater structural rigidity, minimizes vibrations during cutting, and guarantees that the blade cuts perfectly square to the material face. This setup is highly recommended for large steel billets, solid bars, and heavy structural beams.
What automation features does a fully automatic CNC band saw offer?
Our CNC band saw machines integrate PLC touch-screens where operators can program up to 10 different batch lengths and cutting quantities. The machine automatically clamps the material, feeds it forward using a hydraulic or servo feed shuttle vise, executes the cut, raises the saw head, and repeats. It also includes sensors to detect material run-out, blade slippage, or blade breakage.
What are the standard delivery times and payment terms?
We require a 30% TT deposit to confirm the order, and the remaining 70% TT balance before shipment. Standard manual and semi-automatic bandsaws have a lead time of roughly 30 to 35 days, while custom gantry or automatic CNC systems can take 40 to 45 days.
